SOFT CUNTY EMBRACE (2022) by Jacob Coppedge.

This work is a tribute to and celebration of the liberatory possibilities of Ballroom culture, imagined through a cultural “futurist” lens.

Depicting a scene of a Ballroom function, the work envisions a space of collective expression, self-fashioning, and communal possibility, honouring Ballroom as a site of resistance, belonging, and transformation.

The work was first exhibited in Jamming with Strangers, curated by Xander Khoury at Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre.

Silky Station: Home — Soundscape (2023) by Founding Mother Mirasia Silky.

Created for House of Homes, an immersive ballroom museum and community hub presented at The Alex, Alexandria, during Sydney WorldPride 2023, Silky Station: Home is a soundscape steeped in the cultural richness of Ballroom. Moving between collective joy, fantasy, freedom and chosen family, the mix also reflects on the realities of living at the margins, and the care and safety cultivated within community.

Featuring original productions, global Ballroom deep cuts, classic house music samples and aftermath interviews, the soundscape brings together the Oceanic voices of commentators Overall Princess Akashi Silky, Rocky Silky and Jamaica Moana.

FROM MENA WITH LOVE

Six individuals from the LGBTQI+ community within the MENA region came together during the tragedy that struck Lebanon, leaving over 400,000 people displaced to raise awareness for the disaster that happened.

We pay our respects the legends, icons and fem queens before us who paved the way for us to be apart of this.

Thank you to the below individuals for being apart of this, I appreciate you all:
